What Art Basel Miami Beach offers this 2017

This gigantic exhibition, which takes place on the 500,000 square feet of the MBCC, boasts an exhibit layout divided in sectors, each of these with their own unique artistic scope, therefore it is important to plan your visit ahead for the sectors of your choosing.  

  • GALERÍAS: It’s the main display sector of Art Basel featuring 250 stands of participating galleries representing 4,000 thousand artists.
  • NOVA: Focused on the most current trends in contemporary art, it includes artworks of emerging artists.
  • KABINETT: A sector for individual exhibit projects and thematic collective installations.
  • SURVEY: This venue showcases the evolution of art through historical exhibits.
  • PUBLIC: The grand-scale installations of Art Basel Miami Beach are set up on the open-air gardens of Bass Museum. There, performances and conferences ideal for the whole family take place.
  • FILM: This sector is located in the New World Symphony at Soundscape Park which features a 7,000-square-foot projection wall for a diversity of movies and documentaries.
  • POSITION: In this sector, gallerists and collectors devote themselves to contemplating and discovering new creators whom they support and guide throughout their creative careers.
  • EDITION: Art editorials present books and printouts recording the history of great artists and their work.

How to get around in the city to enjoy Art Basel Miami Beach

Airline tickets

Safety guidelines for Art Basel attendees

The Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) sets a series of guidelines intended to safeguard visitors and ensure the correct operation of Art Basel Miami Beach 2017

 

All visitors and their belongings are subject to a thorough inspection before entering the show premises.

  • Backpacks, suitcases and trolleys of any size are not allowed.
  • Only one bag per person is allowed.
  • Personal/- non-professional use photography is permitted, however it must be conducted without disruption to the galleries or visitors, and with the safety of the artworks in mind.
  • Dogs and other pets are not permitted in the exhibition halls, with the exception of certified service animals for visitors with disabilities.
  • Smoking or vaping is not permitted on the show premises.
  • MBCC is wheelchair friendly. Visitors with disabilities will have access to  wheelchairs and scooters free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
